Dr. Radek Uberna joined Lockheed Martin in 2007 as a research scientist. He currently works at the Weather and Remote Sensing business development group at Lockheed Martin Commercial Civil Space line of business, where he specializes in developing and advancing new opportunities for sustained growth through applications of small satellite constellations for government and commercial customers.
His cross-disciplinary experience includes strategy development, new business capture, mergers and acquisitions, international pursuits as well as multidisciplinary research and development in the areas of optics and electro-optics, quantum control, spectroscopy and molecular dynamics, chemistry, optical polarimetry, algorithms and data reduction techniques.
In his prior role at Lockheed Martin, Dr. Uberna invented and led the development of new methods for coherent beam combination for directed energy applications and worked on remote sensing projects focused on standoff biodetection and 3D biometrics.
Dr. Uberna holds a M.S. degree in chemistry from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and a Ph.D. in chemical physics from the University of Nevada, Reno. He did his postdoctoral work at JILA, University of Colorado at Boulder. He authored more than 20 technical publications and holds two patents.
